JOB DESCRIPTION

Your Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our talented Events team, at an exciting time of growth and development for our company. The event manager will have an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of all corporative and social events.

You will be planning high level timelines, deadlines and day to day responsibilities for event creatives and other service providers. You will be required to reach out to and communicate with external companies to sort out logistics and venues, manage internal and external resources, and execute events such as convention booths, pop up booths and more.

You will be able to develop your skills while being motivated to scale up our growing business. As our company grows, you will need to adapt and plan to our growing needs and vision for events. With no two guests being alike, our service style reflects this. We believe in delivering mind-blowing service, tailored to the unique needs of our guests.

Reporting to the General Manager, core work activities include:

  • Event planning and execution.
  • Selling services and acquiring new clients.
  • Responsible for preparing Event documentation.
  • Coordinating Weddings, Social events and Corporative events.
  • Delivering bespoke experiences for clients – understanding that no two events are the same.
  • Recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities through up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
  • Developing and maintaining strong and profitable relationships with new and returning clients.
  • Collaborate with the Sales to plan and execute events and partner events.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and partners to arrange day logistics, bump-ins, timings and layouts.
  • Manage communication of event details with internal stakeholders while effectively managing event budgets.
  • Advise and assist with menu and beverage planning.
  • Meet and greet with the clients on the day of the event, check room set up, review run sheet, communicate final details to caterer’s teams.
  • Follow up with client needs, bring solutions and propose changes in a suitable way.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Skills, Education and Experience

  • A genuinely warm & welcoming demeanor.
  • Great communication and social skills with internal and external parties.
  • Sale and promoting experience.
  • Event Planner experience running events of more than 500 attendees.
  • Impeccable organization.
  • The ability to manage multiple people and timelines.
  • Excellent planning and logistical skills for events.
  • Forward planning and the ability to predict issues and plan around them.
  • Availability to work weekends (a must, given the nature of the role).
  • Display a growth mindset.
  • Believe in the benefits of energizing and motivating others.
  • Display a passion for both the Hospitality and Event industry.
  • A desire to innovate and create, our guests come to experience a life less ordinary.
  • Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, Events and/or similar discipline with 3 years minimum experience within the Event industry or Hospitality.

  • Photography skills.
  • Craft or design skills.
  • Retail or customer service experience.
  • Sales Experience.
